MAMo on Maui: Wearable Art Show

This popular annual show on O’ahu grew out of a month-long celebration of Native Hawaiian art launched by Vicky Holt Takamine in 2006. Of that inspiration, Takamine says, “We realized that art is not just what we frame and put on a wall. It’s the culture, principles and values that are at the core of who we are, that get transferred to the things that we wear.” Expect to see cutting edge design as well as ‘creative comfort’ with traditional patterns and motifs translated for contemporary styles.

Local Voices Series underwritten by the Alma S. Torres Endowment Fund, with generous support from the Mary Lou & Robert J. Morgado Charitable Trust.

Tickets: $35, $45,$60 premium seating. Tickets on sale in May. (plus applicable fees)
